Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Roko Matijevic (ranked 2000 p4p, 4452 weight class) and Kenjiro Tokugawa (ranked 178 p4p, 352 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roko Matijevic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenjiro Tokugawa! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tokugawa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Matijevic throws an overhand right that lands on Tokugawa's shoulder, as Tokugawa tries to avoid the shot. Tokugawa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A little feinted left hand from Matijevic on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Matijevic tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tokugawa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Tokugawa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Matijevic comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Tokugawa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Matijevic. Matijevic slips a straight right by Tokugawa. Tokugawa throws a sloppy body shot
and Matijevic holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Matijevic managing to block the knees to the body from Tokugawa.

Matijevic is working Tokugawa over against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tokugawa misses with a short punch on the inside. Matijevic lands a left hand.
Tokugawa tries to work over Matijevic's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Matijevic scores with a hook to the body. Matijevic misses with a punch on the inside.
Tokugawa wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Matijevic blocks an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matijevic working some nice short punches in the clinch. Matijevic breaks from the clinch.
Matijevic moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Matijevic clinches up against the cage. Matijevic scores with a nice hook to the head. Matijevic scores with a shot to the side of Tokugawa's head. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tokugawa. Tokugawa misses with a body punch.
Matijevic blocks a body shot from Tokugawa. Tokugawa lands with a short head shot on the inside. Matijevic lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Tokugawa backwards. A short right from Tokugawa on the inside. Matijevic pushes Tokugawa back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. I was talking to Matijevic's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Matijevic escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Matijevic fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Matijevic turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Tokugawa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Matijevic. Matijevic misses with a body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matijevic blocks a leg kick. Matijevic half committed to a counter leg kick. An inside leg kick lands from Matijevic. Matijevic takes a shot right to the bread basket. A punch lands to the side of Tokugawa 's head but he takes it in his stride.
It looks like Kenjiro Tokugawa has been cut. Tokugawa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Matijevic lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Tokugawa has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Tokugawa and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Matijevic showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tokugawa.

Matijevic lands with a cross. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Tokugawa. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Matijevic misses with a few strikes there.

A counter left hand to the body from Matijevic misses its target. Matijevic blocks a leg kick. Matijevic misses with a wild body shot. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Roko Matijevic dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kenjiro Tokugawa's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Matijevic throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Tokugawa throws a lazy right hand but Matijevic sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Matijevic tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Tokugawa manages to circle out of the way. Tokugawa takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Matijevic scores with a nice head shot. Tokugawa misses with a hook
and Matijevic counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Tokugawa lands a nice hook to Matijevic's body. Matijevic takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Matijevic is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tokugawa can do to turn this around? Tokugawa misses with a left hand and Matijevic counters with a straight right hand.
Tokugawa is rocked! Matijevic forces Tokugawa back against the cage and clinches. Tokugawa is still on wobbly legs! Can Matijevic finish him? Tokugawa throws a head punch that misses. Matijevic creates a bit of space for himself and unleashed what can only be described as a tiger uppercut, straight out of Street Fighter! Tokugawa crashes to the mat! Can he make it back to his feet in time? 3,4,5,6... it doesn't look like he's going to make it! Tokugawa face plants back to the mat and the referee calls off the fight! Matijevic takes it with a brutal technical knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Roko Matijevic! During a confident post fight interview, Roko Matijevic thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
