Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bhenchod Sharma (ranked 2743 p4p, 3841 weight class) and Adan Blair (ranked 0 p4p, 285 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bhenchod Sharma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adan Blair! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blair wants to clinch up but Sharma keeps it at a distance. Sharma throws a head kick but Blair moves out of range.
Blair shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sharma as he jumps to the side. Blair fails with the takedown. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Blair!
Sharma avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Blair. Sharma swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Bhenchod Sharma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adan Blair. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sharma feints and as Blair raises his hands in defense, Sharma changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Blair bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sharma's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Blair wants to control from the top but Sharma keeps moving. Blair tries to stand but Sharma is controlling from the bottom. Sharma is pulling down on Blair's head to control his posture. Sharma looking for a sweep. Not yet Sharma, not yet. Sharma throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sharma trying to keep a closed guard but Blair is proving a slippery customer.
Blair passes Sharma's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sharma tries to roll over but Blair keeps him under control. Sharma is trying to stand.
Blair wants to control but Sharma is keeping him busy. Sharma wants to get back to full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Blair shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sharma as he jumps to the side.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blair closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sharma circles away. Blair shoots in for a takedown but Sharma shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Sharma throws a big counter combination but Blair scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. A punch combination from Sharma misses. The fight stays on the outside here - Blair looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sharma clinches with his opponent.
Sharma is trying to trip Blair. He has hold of a leg but Blair is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sharma persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Sharma stays in close to Blair's body and controls the position. Blair trying to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sharma controls from within his opponent's guard. Sharma passes into half guard. Sharma throwing shots but Blair is blocking nicely. Sharma controlling the action here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sharma wants to stand but Blair has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bhenchod Sharma dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Sharma moves forwards but Blair connects with a nice, crisp jab. Nice takedown defense from Sharma. No joy for Blair on that attempt. Blair tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sharma throws a quick counter kick to the body but Blair avoids it. Sharma throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sharma pushes Blair up against the cage in a clinch. Sharma has Blair pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sharma pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Blair tumbling to the mat - Sharma dives into Blair's guard. Blair doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blair manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sharma had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blair defends it easily. Sharma is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Blair postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sharma seems keen to control Blair's posture. Sharma has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Blair is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Sharma manages to break the clinch.

Sharma breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Blair shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sharma sprawls well. Sharma wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Blair gets slowly back to his feet. Blair tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sharma swivels and escapes. Bhenchod Sharma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adan Blair. Sharma drives through with a takedown into guard. Blair throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blair doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Sharma gets to his feet. Blair looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Blair gets caught flat footed, as Sharma shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Sharma wants to control from the top but Blair keeps moving. Sharma wants to pass the guard but Blair is keeping the position. Sharma knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Blair on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sharma controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Blair has a closed guard, preventing Sharma from standing up. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Sharma slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Blair missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Sharma actively working from the bottom here. Blair is trying to control the action in half guard but Sharma is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Sharma tries to get to full guard but Blair has control of the leg. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Blair won't allow Sharma to sweep him here. Sharma controlling the position. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Blair looking to score a takedown here. Sharma is defending well but Blair drives through and ends up in Sharma's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Bhenchod Sharma showed his dominance in that final round. Well Sharma has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
