Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Hammond (ranked 5025 p4p, 4799 weight class) and Marquis Flores (ranked 473 p4p, 462 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Hammond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marquis Flores!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flores throws a hook but Hammond avoids it easily.
Hammond throws a head kick that misses.
Hammond moves into the clinch successfully.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Flores wants the takedown. Hammond is fighting it off but Flores persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hammond's guard against the cage.
Flores gets to his feet. Hammond looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hammond fails to land the takedown.
Flores stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Flores wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flores throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hammond tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Flores is in Hammond's guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Hammond manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hammond seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Hammond bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Flores is not content to let Hammond control the position.
Hammond is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Flores is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Flores slaps away a takedown attempt from Hammond, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hammond fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Flores, pushing him back against the cage.
Hammond is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Flores is defending well.
Flores on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Hammond escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hammond tried to score with a low kick but Flores checks it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Flores is defended easily by Hammond.
Hammond rushes Flores and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Hammond's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hammond tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Flores just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hammond wants to take the fight to the mat but Flores manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Flores has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Hammond seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Flores can turn it around.

Hammond lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Hammond feints a jab promting Flores to slip. Hammond then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Flores slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Marquis Flores has been cut.
Hammond closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hammond lands in his opponent's guard.
Hammond stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Flores swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hammond has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Flores is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hammond.
Hammond sneaks out the side door and pushes Flores away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Flores shoots in for a double leg but Hammond sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hammond throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Flores with the counter takedown but Hammond avoids it easily.
Hammond lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Oooooh!!! Hammond has knocked Flores down with a huge combo! Hammond steps away and waves a wobbly Flores back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Flores is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hammond changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Flores looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Flores is still in real trouble! Can Hammond finish him?
Hammond is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Flores knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hammond decides to stand up, so the ref orders Flores to his feet.

Hammond has Flores pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hammond pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Flores tumbling to the mat - Hammond dives into Flores's guard.

Well Hammond has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
