Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mohammad Rosario (ranked 2363 p4p, 2194 weight class) and Bryson Whitehead (ranked 219 p4p, 200 weight class). Bryson Whitehead has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mohammad Rosario! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryson Whitehead! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitehead lands a really nice looking cross but Rosario seems unphased.
Rosario connects with a body shot. Whitehead misses with a hook. Rosario ducked under it nicely. Whitehead moves into range and clinches up with Rosario. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Whitehead has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Whitehead gets control of Rosario's arms and successfully pulls guard. Whitehead will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Whitehead tries to land a sweep but no joy. Whitehead pulls Rosario in close to his closed guard and prevents Rosario from doing any damage or advancing position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Let's hope that Whitehead has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Rosario lands with a good body shot. A big right from Whitehead misses. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Rosario throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Whitehead feints and as Rosario raises his hands in defense, Whitehead changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Whitehead controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Whitehead stands and throws Rosario's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whitehead tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Whitehead remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Whitehead's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whitehead tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Whitehead tries to advance to mount but Rosario denies him. Whitehead goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rosario has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Whitehead but great work by Rosario. Whitehead looks to move to half guard but instead Rosario has passed into mount! Damn! Whitehead looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. Whitehead tries to lock up and control but Rosario gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whitehead is trying desperately to improve position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rosario can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Whitehead is looking to escape. Rosario avoids the attempt from Whitehead to control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Whitehead slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bryson Whitehead dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Rosario misses with a two punch combination.
Rosario throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A big left from Whitehead misses. A counter left hand to the body from Rosario misses its target. Rosario uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Rosario fails to land with a series of punches.
Rosario is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Whitehead shoots in and gets a takedown into Rosario's guard. Whitehead pushes down on Rosario's leg and manages to get into half guard. Whitehead trying to control the pace. Whitehead moves nicely into side control. Rosario is trying to escape the position but Whitehead is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rosario is trying to control Whitehead's posture but Whitehead avoids it. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Whitehead is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rosario has escaped the position, nice work there. Whitehead taking a breather here. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Whitehead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Whitehead is continuing to stall. Rosario stops Whitehead from passing to mount. Whitehead working away. Whitehead tries for a kimura but Rosario is defending well. Whitehead moves into full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whitehead controlling his opponent. Rosario is controlling an arm, preventing Whitehead from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Whitehead swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rosario is now in Whitehead's guard. A big mistake from Whitehead there, giving up the dominant position!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whitehead seems keen to control Rosario's posture. Rosario got a little sloppy there for a moment and Whitehead has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rosario has managed to get both his arms back between Whitehead's legs - danger averted. Rosario won't allow Whitehead to sweep him here. Whitehead throws his legs up looking for a submission but Rosario uses it to pass to side control.
Whitehead tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Rosario presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Whitehead manages to regain half guard. Good work. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bryson Whitehead showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. Mohammad Rosario has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Whitehead throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Whitehead thows a left - swing and a miss! A shot to the liver by Rosario. Beautiful body shot. Rosario misses with a jab, cross combination.
Whitehead takes a swing at Rosario's ribcage but misses. Mohammad Rosario seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rosario scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Rosario on the wrong end of a nice jab. Rosario throws a right hand that Whitehead ducks under and follows up with a left that Whitehead also avoids with ease. Rosario rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Whitehead moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Whitehead drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rosario defends it well. Rosario throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Whitehead rushes Rosario and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Whitehead gets through Rosario's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Whitehead breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rosario misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Whitehead throws a series of punches but Rosario moves out of range. Rosario is looking to wear down Whitehead with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Whitehead waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rosario. Rosario just misses with a punch to the body.
Mohammad Rosario is winning the standup battle so far. Whitehead lands a slapping body shot.
Rosario cracks Whitehead with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whitehead shoots in and gets a takedown into Rosario's guard. Whitehead controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Whitehead pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rosario is keeping the position for now. Whitehead is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Whitehead drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Whitehead jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Whitehead is stalling in the full guard. Whitehead passes Rosario's left leg - he's now in half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A big right from Whitehead misses. Rosario misses with a body punch
enabling Whitehead to counter with a crisp jab. Mohammad Rosario is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rosario gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Whitehead. Whitehead throws a lazy right hand but Rosario sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Rosario rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Whitehead moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Whitehead swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Whitehead bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rosario's head backwards. Rosario throws a series of punches but Whitehead moves out of range. Rosario swinging wildly here.
Rosario looks to score with a jab to the body but Whitehead is just out of range. Bryson Whitehead is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Whitehead takes a swing at Rosario's ribcage but misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rosario uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Whitehead. Whitehead might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Rosario steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Whitehead. Whitehead misses the shot to the body. Whitehead closes the distance and pushes Rosario back into the cage. Rosario scores with a hook to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rosario has a couple of punches blocked by Whitehead.

Whitehead jumps guard and drags Rosario to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Whitehead seems keen to control Rosario's posture.
