Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Xi Daerji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mohan Draxinger!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daerji tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Draxinger manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Daerji dives in for a single leg takedown but Draxinger sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Draxinger pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Daerji fails with the takedown.
Daerji tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Draxinger swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xi Daerji. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Daerji misses with a body shot.
A jab from Daerji misses.
Draxinger steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A good leg kick by Draxinger.
Draxinger connects with a high kick.
Daerji shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Draxinger counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Draxinger scores with a leg kick.
Draxinger turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Daerji on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Draxinger. Draxinger obviously looking to wear him down.
Draxinger swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Daerji shoots in for a takedown but Draxinger shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Draxinger tries a quick counter leg kick but Daerji is wise to it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Daerji is defended easily by Draxinger.
Daerji is breathing heavily.
Daerji has his takedown stuffed
and Draxinger counters with a flying knee that drops Daerji! Draxinger dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!
