Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nico Lange (ranked 1132 p4p, 1487 weight class) and James Howlett (ranked 117 p4p, 149 weight class). Howlett has chosen Indestructible as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nico Lange! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Howlett! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lange is looking to clinch but Howlett is avoiding it.
Howlett feints the counter takedown. Howlett gets a double leg takedown into Lange's guard. Howlett tries to free his leg and advance position but Lange is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lange had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Howlett defends it easily. Lange is trying to keep Howlett in close.
Lange looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Howlett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Howlett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lange throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Lange can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Howlett controls the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lange had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Howlett defends it easily. Howlett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lange swivels though and keeps the full guard. Howlett's corner is telling him to maintain position. Lange keeping moving, preventing Howlett from controlling successfully. Howlett is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Howlett trying to control the position from guard on top but Lange is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Lange goes for a double leg but Howlett avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Howlett continues to drive forward. Howlett pulls guard successfully.
Howlett is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lange is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Howlett is working for a submission of some sort.
Lange is defending against the submission attempts here by Howlett.
Lange makes his way to full guard, as Howlett worked for a kimura.
Howlett won't allow Lange to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lange working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Howlett doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Howlett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Howlett trying to control the position from guard on top but Lange is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lange is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lange working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Howlett doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Howlett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lange can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Howlett controls the pace. Lange is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Howlett is aware though and is defending well. Lange escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Howlett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lange looking to sweep here. No luck so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Howlett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lange looking for a guillotine here but Howlett defends easily.
Lange wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Howlett manages to pass to side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Howlett is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lange is just riding it out for now. Howlett eventually gives up the hold. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
James Howlett dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Howlett darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Lange is looking to get back to is feet but Howlett passes into side control.
Howlett trying to control the action but Lange is working from the bottom. Lange looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Lange gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lange is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Howlett pulls his head out easily. Howlett is looking for a kimura here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lange is trying to get back to full guard. Howlett is keen to just control but Lange is a slippery customer. Howlett is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Lange wants to improve his position but Howlett is controlling well.
Howlett is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Howlett blocks the strikes from Lange.
Lange is trying to get back to full guard. Lange is looking to escape. Howlett is working for a kimura but Lange is defending it quite comfortably.
Howlett looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
James Howlett has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Howlett is trying to control. Lange wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Howlett is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lange sees it coming and defends easily. Howlett works his way into side control. Howlett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Howlett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lange manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Lange tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Howlett makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Howlett. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Howlett is trying to keep Lange in close.
Lange has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lange in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Howlett has his foot on Lange's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lange works his way back into a safe position though. Lange tries to free his leg and advance position but Howlett is retaining full guard. Howlett looking for a sweep. Not yet Howlett, not yet. Lange wants to pass the guard but Howlett is keeping the position. Howlett is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lange defends well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lange wants to stand and escape but instead Howlett has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
James Howlett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Lange will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Howlett drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Lange defends it well. Howlett takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Howlett closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lange quickly recovers to half guard. Howlett in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Lange tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Howlett!
