Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wood Chuck (ranked 471 p4p, 855 weight class) and Serwacy Smolarek (ranked 66 p4p, 110 weight class). Chuck comes to the cage accompanied by Who Needs A Girl Like You - Indian Wars. Smolarek is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: No Easy Way Out. Wood Chuck has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wood Chuck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Serwacy Smolarek! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smolarek misses the body punch and Chuck decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Smolarek's guard. Chuck working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Smolarek keeping moving, preventing Chuck from controlling successfully. Chuck is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Chuck working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Chuck postures up in Smolarek's guard and throws a big left but Smolarek blocks it. Chuck showing good wrestling skills to control the position. That's one minute gone in the round. Chuck postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Smolarek is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Chuck pushes down on Smolarek's leg and manages to get into half guard. Chuck winds up and cracks Smolarek with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Smolarek trying to hold on to Chuck's head to control him but Chuck postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Chuck is nestled in close to Smolarek, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Chuck landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Smolarek is controlling Chuck's position as best he can from this difficult position. Chuck scoring with strikes to the body and head. Smolarek is not content to let Chuck control the position. Chuck seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chuck is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Smolarek moves into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chuck cracks Smolarek with a solid left hand.

We've been hearing that Chuck has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Smolarek tries to strike from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Smolarek on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Chuck working the head with strikes. Chuck landing a few strikes. Smolarek lands a little strike from the bottom. Chuck cracks Smolarek with a big right hand but Smolarek just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Smolarek is rocked! Smolarek is looking for a sweep. Chuck is looking to take a break and control but Smolarek is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wood Chuck dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Smolarek works the jab nicely. Smolarek throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chuck on the side of the head. Smolarek throws a hook but Chuck blocks it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chuck. Chuck slips under a jab. Chuck ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smolarek moves away. Chuck throws the left hand but Smolarek avoids the punch easily. Smolarek misses with a looping left. Smolarek thumps Chuck with a low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chuck bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Chuck ducks under a wild hook from Smolarek. Chuck goes for a double leg but Smolarek avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Smolarek continues to drive forward. Smolarek steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Chuck. Chuck tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Smolarek's elbow. Chuck blocking some punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chuck misses with a body punch.
Smolarek's coach down at London MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Smolarek's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Chuck breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A telegraphed right hand from Smolarek misses the target. Chuck checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Chuck connects with a body shot that sends Smolarek's belly button to the back. Chuck looks to land a right hand but Smolarek moved out of range. A nice side step and Smolarek releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Smolarek lunges at Chuck with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Chuck's hand. Chuck slips under a jab. Smolarek misses with a wild combination.

Smolarek missing with a left hand there. Chuck was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Chuck closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smolarek to the mat! Smolarek manages to get full guard. Chuck trying to control but Smolarek is working from the bottom. Chuck lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chuck postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Smolarek not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Chuck passes Smolarek's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chuck connects with a nice short shot to Smolarek's temple.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chuck is thwarting Smolarek's attempts to control the position. Nice strikes from Chuck there. Ground and pound from Chuck. Chuck is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Chuck looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Chuck wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smolarek keeps working. Smolarek tries to kick Chuck off in order to stand up. Chuck Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Smolarek takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Chuck looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Smolarek takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Wood Chuck dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round! Smolarek misses the shot to the body. Serwacy Smolarek seems to be getting the better of the standup. A big left from Chuck misses. Smolarek flicks out a counter leg kick but Chuck steps away. Chuck misses the jab. Chuck's corner calls for a 1-2. Chuck obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Some wild striking there from Smolarek.
Smolarek throws a hook but Chuck blocks it. Smolarek uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chuck. Chuck avoids the body shot from Smolarek.

Smolarek takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Chuck is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smolarek can do to turn this around? Smolarek jabs at Chuck's body. Chuck swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Smolarek! But no joy. Smolarek misses with an uppercut. Chuck saw that one coming. Chuck drops down looking for a counter takedown but Smolarek sprawls and moves away. Chuck bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Chuck moves out of range of the strikes. Chuck lands with an overhand left. Serwacy Smolarek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good exchange - Smolarek coming out on top. Smolarek waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chuck. Smolarek swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Chuck works Smolarek's body with a nice hook. Smolarek takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Chuck misses with a straight left. Chuck misses with a straight right. Smolarek throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Smolarek looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Smolarek throws a lazy uppercut
and Chuck counters with a single leg into guard. Smolarek didn't expect that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chuck tries to free his leg and advance position but Smolarek is retaining full guard. Chuck scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Chuck lands a couple of elbows. Smolarek has momentary wrist control but Chuck slips an elbow through the middle. Chuck scoring with punches to the head and body. Chuck lands a couple of elbows. Chuck trying to control but Smolarek is working from the bottom. Chuck cracks Smolarek with a solid left hand. Smolarek has momentary wrist control but Chuck slips an elbow through the middle. Smolarek is still in real trouble! Can Chuck finish him? Chuck has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chuck controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Smolarek can't keep his opponent in guard - Chuck advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Chuck is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Nice strikes from Chuck there. Chuck lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Smolarek! More strikes land and this one is all over! Chuck jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wood Chuck! During a confident post fight interview, Wood Chuck thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
