Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Whelan (ranked 3201 p4p, 3275 weight class) and Splash Tetra (ranked 368 p4p, 375 weight class). Tetra has chosen Splash - Championxiii as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sean Whelan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Splash Tetra! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whelan connects with the punch. Whelan jabs Tetra to the body, keeping him at a distance. Whelan takes one on the button. A clash of legs there as Whelan blocks the low kick. A left and a right from Whelan both land. Nice combination. Tetra keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Whelan lands with a nice body punch. Whelan lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Whelan looks to land a left hand but Tetra moved out of range nicely. Tetra looks to land a body kick but Whelan moved away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Whelan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Whelan connects with a body shot. Tetra misses with a low kick.
Whelan has closed the distance and engaged Tetra in a clinch.
Tetra can't find room to land a body shot as Whelan controls the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Whelan fails to land. Tetra struggles to land a body shot inside as Whelan controls his hands.
Whelan doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Whelan tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Whelan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tetra blocks it with crossed arms. Whelan misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Tetra.
Tetra is working Whelan over against the cage. Whelan misses with a short punch on the inside. Tetra tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Tetra gets through Whelan's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A left hand lands to the body for Tetra.

Tetra lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Whelan backwards. Tetra has a couple of punches blocked by Whelan.
Whelan looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Whelan blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Tetra breaks from the clinch.
Whelan is looking to wear down Tetra with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Tetra throws a hook to the side of Whelan's head but Whelan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whelan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tetra on the side of the head. Tetra pushes Whelan away with a front kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tetra looks for the body kick but Whelan saw that one coming. Whelan is looking to counter punch. Whelan throws a shot from downtown. Tetra moves away and avoids it. Tetra throws a sloppy head kick and Whelan moves out of range easily. Tetra keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Whelan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tetra paws at him with a jab and circles away. A jab from Whelan misses. Tetra throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Sean Whelan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A looping hook to the body misses from Whelan. Tetra does a little dance to reset his feet. Tetra goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Whelan fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Tetra throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tetra throws a body kick despite being completely out of range letting Whelan counter with a right hand. Whelan ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Whelan misses with a looping right. Whelan just misses with a punch to the body.
Tetra misses with a kick to the body.
Tetra has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Whelan checks the leg kick nicely there.
It looked like Whelan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Whelan moves into the clinch successfully.
Tetra can't find room to land a body shot as Whelan controls the action.

Tetra tries to work over Whelan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Whelan connects with a nasty looking knee right to Tetra's face.
Tetra is rocked! Whelan with a knee to the head.
Tetra is still on wobbly legs! Can Whelan finish him? Whelan lands a big knee! That's hurt Tetra! Oh, he's all over the place! Whelan lands another knee that sends Tetra to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
