Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Marvin Hearse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rodolfo Mcclain! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hearse shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hearse was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hearse working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The ground and pound from Hearse seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mcclain is looking to reverse the position. Mcclain manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Mcclain is looking for a kimura here.
Mcclain is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hearse has managed to free his arm - good work. Mcclain is trying to control the action in half guard but Hearse is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcclain is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hearse defends it well. Mcclain is working for a kimura but Hearse is defending it quite comfortably.
Mcclain wants to take a breather but Hearse is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mcclain is working for a kimura but Hearse is defending it quite comfortably.
Mcclain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hearse keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcclain wants to pass to mount but Hearse is defending the position. Hearse knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mcclain on the ground. Mcclain seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hearse does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Mcclain is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mcclain works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hearse is trying to stand up. Mcclain working for a submission but Hearse is keeping him at bay. Mcclain swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hearse is now in Mcclain's guard. A big mistake from Mcclain there, giving up the dominant position! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hearse is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Mcclain has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hearse is looking to defend but Mcclain has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hearse! Mcclain pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hearse taps out and this one is all over!
