Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Umar Hagmedov (ranked 3569 p4p, 2741 weight class) and Zane Frost (ranked 387 p4p, 0 weight class). Hagmedov has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Umar Hagmedov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Umar Hagmedov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zane Frost!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hagmedov throws a shot from downtown. Frost moves away and avoids it.
Frost doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hagmedov counters by clinching up.
Frost trying to control the position but instead, Hagmedov has worked for underhooks and has pushed Frost into the cage.

Hagmedov lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hagmedov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Hagmedov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hagmedov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hagmedov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Frost keeps working.

Frost is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hagmedov has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Hagmedov has control of Frost's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Frost regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Frost's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Frost is desperately trying to improve his position but Hagmedov has a good base and remains in mount.

Umar Hagmedov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
