Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, tommy wan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CAIN VELASQUEZ! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! VELASQUEZ tries to clinch up but wan circles away and keeps his distance. VELASQUEZ wants to clinch up but wan keeps it at a distance. wan drives through and clinches with VELASQUEZ against the cage.
VELASQUEZ is trying to break free. wan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. wan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. wan looking to control.
wan is looking for a triangle but VELASQUEZ pushes his legs off easily.
wan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. VELASQUEZ postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. wan uses the cage to get back to his feet.
VELASQUEZ wants to clinch but wan slips to the side and wan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in VELASQUEZ's guard now. wan stopping the sweep attempt from VELASQUEZ. VELASQUEZ has his foot on wan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. wan works his way back into a safe position though. VELASQUEZ throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
VELASQUEZ wants to improve his position but instead wan has moved into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. VELASQUEZ throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
wan is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, VELASQUEZ has managed to free his arm - good work. VELASQUEZ is looking for a sweep. wan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. wan takes a jab right on the kisser.
wan closes this distance looking for a takedown but VELASQUEZ circles away. wan shoots for a double leg takedown but VELASQUEZ sprawls well. He's pushed wan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. wan is breathing heavily. VELASQUEZ throws a left that rocks wan and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! VELASQUEZ dives into side control, looking to finish! Can wan regain composure!

It looks like tommy wan has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. VELASQUEZ scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh wan is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and VELASQUEZ can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
