Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nobita Baki (ranked 2399 p4p, 3241 weight class) and Curtis Landry (ranked 270 p4p, 348 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Curtis Landry!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baki shoots in for a takedown but Landry shows good takedown defense.
Baki throws a hook but Landry blocks it.
Landry moves out of range of the strikes.
Landry lands with a straight right. Baki didn't see that one coming.

It looks like Nobita Baki has been cut.
Landry swinging wildly here.
Landry throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Landry misses with a straight left.
Landry scores with the left hand. Baki knows he should have avoided that one.
Landry on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Baki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Landry throws a series of punches but Baki moves out of range.
Curtis Landry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Landry swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Landry swings for the body but Baki moves out of range.
Landry cracks Baki with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Baki drops his hands momentarily and Landry takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Landry fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Baki ducks under a wild hook from Landry.
Curtis Landry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Landry scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Landry has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Landry works over Baki's head and body with a nice combination.
Baki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Landry sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Baki somewhat.
Landry looks to land a left hand but Baki moved out of range nicely.

Landry might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Landry lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Baki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Baki throws a lazy head kick
and Landry counters with a series of strikes. Baki will be more careful next time no doubt.

Baki is rocked!

Baki darts in and clinches Landry up against the cage.
Oh Baki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Landry manages to break the clinch.
Baki seems to have got his legs back now.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Landry enables Baki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Landry manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Landry wants to stand and escape but Baki is having none of it.
Baki working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Baki is in close to Landry's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Baki definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baki won't allow Landry to get back to his feet.
Baki might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Baki thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Landry uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Baki misses with a looping right.
Landry lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Baki tries to clinch up but Landry circles away and keeps his distance.
Baki loads up on a big right hand but Landry slips the punch.
Baki tries to close the distance and clinch but Landry swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Landry throws a right and a left that Baki avoids nicely.
Landry scores with a jab to the head.
Landry throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Baki sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Baki closes the distance looking to clinch
and Landry counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Landry throws a jab but it's blocked by Baki.
Landry throws a right hand that Baki ducks under and follows up with a left that Baki also avoids with ease.
Landry has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Baki throws a hook but Landry avoids it easily.
Baki misses with a lunging right hand
and Landry counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Landry throws a nice looking combination but Baki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Baki is looking to clinch.
Baki takes a swing at Landry's ribcage but misses.
Baki loads up on a big right hand but Landry slips the punch.
Landry scores with a nice right hand.
Landry misses with a wild combination.
Landry bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Landry swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Baki misses with a wild body shot.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Curtis Landry dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Nobita Baki's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Baki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Landry swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Landry catches Baki with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Baki misses with a looping right.
Landry unleashes a big counter combination but Baki bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Baki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Landry is trying to defend but Baki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Baki throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Landry is staying active underneath Baki, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Baki in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Landry tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Baki!
