The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicholas ducks under a wild hook from Germanicus .
Germanicus looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Germanicus throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nicholas let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
A punch combination from Nicholas misses.
Germanicus with a jab.
Nicholas connects with a body shot.
Nice shot lands for Germanicus .
Nicholas moves out of range as Germanicus strikes.
Germanicus fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Nicholas feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Germanicus sprawling to the canvas! Germanicus rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Nicholas finish him?!
It looks like Romulus Germanicus has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nicholas cracks Germanicus with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Nicholas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Germanicus to stand back up!
Germanicus is rocked!
Germanicus misses with an uppercut
and Nicholas counters with a huge right that knocks Germanicus out cold! Nicholas is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Franz Nicholas!
Romulus Germanicus was interviewed post fight and said 'I gave my all, it's just that my opponent outbox me. I'll reflect with this.'.
