This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 6 losses; Butch Wang! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 5 losses; Jermaine Pearson! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Pearson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Wang tries to counter by clinching up but Pearson breaks away and moves out of range. Pearson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wang as he jumps to the side. Pearson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wang sprawls well. Wang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pearson gets slowly back to his feet. Wang rushes Pearson and presses him up against the ropes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pearson can't get the takedown.

Wang got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pearson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wang has managed to get both his arms back between Pearson's legs - danger averted. Pearson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pearson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Pearson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wang keeps working.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Pearson is staying tight to Wang's torso, preventing him from escaping. Pearson trying to control the position but Wang is working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
