And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Pereira!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira tries to close the distance and clinch up but Li swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pereira shoots in for a takedown but Li shows good takedown defense.
Li half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Pereira tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Li paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pereira tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Li manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pereira fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Pereira tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Li defends well and Pereira ends up having to push Li into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Chengji Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Pereira.
Pereira wants to clinch up but Li keeps it at a distance.
Pereira moves to clinch but Li breaks away
and Li decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pereira's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Li is looking to work some ground and pound but Pereira has wrist control.
Li stands up over Pereira, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
It looks like Alex Pereira has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pereira wants to sweep here but Li controlling him for the moment.
Li postures up and lands a big shot to Pereira's brow.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Li lands a couple of elbows.
Pereira is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Li is controlling him.

Li is in close to Pereira's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Li advances to half guard.
Nice strikes from Li there.
That has opened up Alex Pereira's cut even more.
Still in half guard, Li seems content to control.
Li tries to pass to full mount but Pereira defends it.
Pereira wants to get back to his feet.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Li connects with a nice short shot to Pereira's temple.
The cut above Alex Pereira's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Alex Pereira's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Chengji Li!
