Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mauro Jonatas (ranked 4430 p4p, 4172 weight class) and Sergio Nunez (ranked 377 p4p, 365 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mauro Jonatas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergio Nunez!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonatas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jonatas closes the distance and pushes Nunez back into the ropes.
Jonatas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jonatas throws a head kick that misses
so Nunez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jonatas wants to sweep but no luck.
Jonatas is trying to keep Nunez in close.
Jonatas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nunez is one step ahead there.
Nunez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jonatas works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nunez wants to control from the top but Jonatas keeps moving.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jonatas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nunez keeps working.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jonatas wants to control but Nunez is keeping him busy.
Nunez parries the strikes from Jonatas easily there. Jonatas is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Nunez to escape.
Jonatas tries to score with some ground and pound. Nunez controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Jonatas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nunez on the ground.

Jonatas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jonatas showed some decent athleticism there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jonatas throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Nunez escapes and throws Jonatas's legs to the side, diving into side control!
