The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merill throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Merill connects with the punch.
Good standup being displayed there by Merill as he connects with a hook.
Merill jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Merill misses with a combination
and Watcher counters with a shoot takedown. Merill fights it but they end up in guard.
Merill wants to get back to his feet but Watcher passes into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Watcher moves nicely into side control.
Watcher advances to mount.
Merill is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Watcher is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Merill is in real trouble.
Merill is looking to escape but he's done so without protecting himself and Watcher manages to counter with a nice rear naked choke! Merill is in trouble and he's forced to tap!
