Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nurma Dirkinshan (ranked 3381 p4p, 3892 weight class) and Jorge Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 286 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jorge Rice was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nurma Dirkinshan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jorge Rice!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dirkinshan closes the distance and clinches.
Dirkinshan lands a good knee to the midsection. Rice won't want to take too many of those.
Dirkinshan effectively controlling the action here.
Dirkinshan is pressed up against the cage. Rice has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dirkinshan down to the mat. Dirkinshan avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Dirkinshan fakes the leg kick and cracks Rice in the body.

Dirkinshan darts in and clinches Rice up against the cage.
Dirkinshan lands an elbow just above Rice 's eye.

It looks like Jorge Rice has been cut.
Dirkinshan is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Dirkinshan tries to land a knee to the head but Rice blocks with his arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dirkinshan comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Rice takes an elbow to the forehead.

Dirkinshan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dirkinshan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rice, pushing him back against the cage.

Dirkinshan unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Dirkinshan avoiding damage.
Dirkinshan putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Rice in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Rice wants to break free but Dirkinshan has control.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Dirkinshan for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Dirkinshan.
Rice tries for a takedown. No joy.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dirkinshan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Nurma Dirkinshan.

Dirkinshan is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Dirkinshan.

Dirkinshan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dirkinshan is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Nurma Dirkinshan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Rice.
Dirkinshan lands an elbow that stopped Rice in his tracks for a moment.
Rice takes a knee right on the jaw!
Dirkinshan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

The cut man is working on Jorge Rice's cut.
That's time! Dirkinshan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Dirkinshan moves into the clinch successfully.
Rice tries to score a body lock takedown but Dirkinshan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Rice drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dirkinshan pulls his leg out and moves away.

Dirkinshan rushes Rice and presses him up against the cage.

Dirkinshan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rice throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dirkinshan's waist but Dirkinshan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rice off to one side.
Nurma Dirkinshan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Rice.

Dirkinshan gets a clinch.
Dirkinshan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rice blocks it with crossed arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dirkinshan unloads a knee to the mid-section. Rice lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Dirkinshan lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Dirkinshan lands an elbow that stopped Rice in his tracks for a moment.

Dirkinshan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Dirkinshan drives through and clinches with Rice against the cage.
Dirkinshan gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Dirkinshan lands a big knee to the head and Rice goes down! Dirkinshan pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
