Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 16 - 85 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Mariusz Pudzianowski!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pudzianowski wants to break the clinch but can't.
Pudzianowski fails to pull guard.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Pudzianowski feints and then cracks Albertson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Albertson down.
Albertson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pudzianowski's waist but Pudzianowski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Albertson off to one side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pudzianowski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Albertson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Albertson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Pudzianowski tries to escape but Albertson is in control.
Pudzianowski is trying to escape the position but Albertson is controlling the position.
Albertson lands a nice forearm strike.
Albertson lands a decent elbow from side control.

Albertson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pudzianowski, who protects the arm well.
Albertson misses with the ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pudzianowski pushes Albertson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Albertson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Pudzianowski throws a leg kick but Albertson sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Albertson is looking to counter the offense by Pudzianowski and move into the clinch.
Pudzianowski fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Albertson is out of range.
Albertson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pudzianowski circles away.

Pudzianowski is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Albertson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
John Albertson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Albertson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pudzianowski looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Albertson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pudzianowski is just riding it out for now. Albertson eventually gives up the hold.

Well, if Albertson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Albertson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pudzianowski avoids it really well and circles away.

Albertson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pudzianowski as he avoids it easily.
Pudzianowski dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Albertson. That did some damage!

Pudzianowski will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Pudzianowski shoots for a double leg takedown but Albertson sprawls well. He's pushed Pudzianowski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Albertson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Albertson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
John Albertson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Albertson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Albertson content to control rather than advance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Albertson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Albertson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

I think Albertson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
