Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carmine Falcone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donnie James!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jonathan Paton and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Falcone shoots for a takedown but James saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nice sprawl there from James as Falcone shoots in.
Falcone lands a high kick!
James tries a head kick but it misses.
James stuffs the takedown attempt from Falcone. Falcone gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carmine Falcone. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James throws a head kick that misses.
James misses with a head kick.
James throws a sloppy head kick and Falcone moves out of range easily.
Falcone takes a kick to the side of the head.
Falcone blocks a head kick by James.
James throws a right and a left that both miss.
Falcone moves in looking to clinch but James pushes him off.
James throws a sloppy head kick and Falcone moves out of range easily.
Falcone lands with a kick to the temple. James shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
James pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Falcone tries to clinch but James moves out of range.
Falcone tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center.

James misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
James throws a sloppy head kick

and Falcone moves into the clinch.
Falcone changes levels and goes for a takedown here. James fights it off and pushes away nicely.
James is looking to clinch.
James throws a head kick that misses.
Falcone fails with a takedown attempt.

and James counters with a big head kick but Falcone shrugs it off.


It looks like Carmine Falcone has been cut.

and James counters by moving into the clinch.
James tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
James prevents the takedown attempt.

James escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Falcone scores a takedown into full mount!
Falcone is breathing heavily.
Falcone pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Falcone really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James tries to reverse the position but Falcone maintains control.
James is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Falcone working for a guillotine from mount but James is in no mood to give up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Falcone avoids the attempt from James to control.
Falcone trying to control but James is having none of it.
James is trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Falcone controlling his opponent.
James tries to hold on but Falcone pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
James really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Falcone with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
James tries to get back to half guard but can't.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


James goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

and Falcone counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Falcone.

James manages to break the clinch.
Falcone cracks James with a good jab.
Falcone wants to clinch

and James counters with a single leg into guard. Falcone didn't expect that.
Falcone wants to stand up but James is controlling him.
James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Falcone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
James is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Falcone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Falcone is tightening it up a little... James has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! James reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! James taps out! nice BJJ there by Falcone!
