Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Skoog (ranked 1648 p4p, 1391 weight class) and Riel Proh (ranked 214 p4p, 186 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jimmy Skoog! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 2, fighting out of London, Riel Proh! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skoog throws out a loose jab but Proh uses good head movement to avoid it. Skoog will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Proh is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Proh dives in and grabs Skoog's left leg, looking for a takedown. Skoog pushes down on Proh's head and hops out. Skoog cracks a nice hook into Proh's ribs. Skoog throws a series of punches but Proh avoids them all with ease. Skoog misses with a right hand and Proh counters with a single leg into guard. Skoog didn't expect that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Skoog keeping full guard, as Proh tries to pass. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Proh accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Skoog not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

It looks like Riel Proh has been cut. Donk. Skoog catches Proh right on the button with a cross. Skoog lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Skoog. We've been told by Skoog's head coaches at The Tank Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Skoog bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

and Proh counters with a shoot takedown. Skoog fights it but they end up in guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Proh working his ground and pound in the gym. Skoog not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Proh with a flurry of punches that miss. Proh has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Proh stands up over Skoog, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Skoog scores with a jab. Skoog stuffs the takedown attempt from Proh. Proh gets slowly back to his feet. Skoog tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Proh manages to circle out of the way.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Proh fails with the takedown. Nice body punch from Skoog. Jimmy Skoog is winning the standup battle so far. Skoog darts in trying to clinch and Proh counters with a single leg into guard. Skoog didn't expect that. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jimmy Skoog is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Proh walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Proh uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Skoog. A close second round but Riel Proh will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Riel Proh's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Proh tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Skoog defends well and Proh ends up having to push Skoog into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Proh manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Skoog on his heels. He'll look to pass Skoog's guard now, I'm sure. Proh throwing strikes from guard but Skoog blocks nicely. Skoog is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Skoog looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Proh passes into half guard.

Skoog is rocked! Skoog tries to hold on but Proh pushes him away. Oh Skoog is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Proh cracks Skoog with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Skoog tries to hold on but Proh postures up. Skoog is bucking up trying to escape but Proh cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Proh wants to control the pace but Skoog is squirming around nicely. Skoog seems to have got his legs back now. Proh lands a heavy elbow. Skoog is in a horrible position here. Proh smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Skoog taking shots to the head. Proh with good strikes from the mount here! Proh controlling his opponent. Proh lands a nice shot to the head. Proh loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Skoog scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Proh land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Proh stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Riel Proh! After the fight, Riel Proh was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
