Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Giannis Alanopoulos (ranked 3872 p4p, 3421 weight class) and Shin Otami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shin Otami has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Giannis Alanopoulos's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Giannis Alanopoulos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Otami! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Otami goes for a double leg but Alanopoulos avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Alanopoulos continues to drive forward. Alanopoulos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Otami but Otami pushes him off and we're back to square one. Alanopoulos fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Alanopoulos wants to clinch up but Otami keeps it at a distance. Otami on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Alanopoulos shoots for a double leg takedown but Otami sprawls well. He's pushed Alanopoulos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Giannis Alanopoulos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alanopoulos slaps away a takedown attempt from Otami, before circling back to the center of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Otami closes the distance and clinches up with Alanopoulos, looking for a takedown. Otami pushes Alanopoulos against the cage but Alanopoulos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Alanopoulos misses with a body kick. Otami closes the distance and clinches. Alanopoulos tries to pull guard but Otami holds him up against the cage and eventually Alanopoulos drops back down to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Otami prevents Alanopoulos from getting back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alanopoulos looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Otami content to stall in guard here. Alanopoulos has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Otami is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Otami fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Otami drives through and clinches with Alanopoulos against the cage.
Otami works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Otami jumps into guard, dragging Alanopoulos to the mat.
Alanopoulos looking to sit in guard and control but Otami gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Alanopoulos controls Otami momentarily but Otami frees himself. Otami is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Alanopoulos wants to hit a sweep here but Otami passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Alanopoulos there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Otami takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Alanopoulos tries to hold on but Otami postures up. Otami content just to control the position here. Otami throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Otami controlling the pace for now. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shin Otami dominated that round. That's time! Alanopoulos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Otami fails with a takedown attempt. Alanopoulos tries to clinch up. Otami has Alanopoulos up against the cage in a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Otami manages to pull guard.
Otami has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Alanopoulos has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Otami breaks from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Otami dives in and grabs Alanopoulos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alanopoulos pushes down on Otami's head and hops out. Alanopoulos misses with a takedown attempt and Otami makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Otami is trying hard to land a takedown here. Alanopoulos sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Giannis Alanopoulos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shin Otami. Otami avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Alanopoulos is pressed up against the cage. Otami has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alanopoulos down to the mat. Alanopoulos avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Otami is breathing heavily. Alanopoulos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Nice sprawl there from Otami as Alanopoulos shoots in. Alanopoulos clinches with his opponent.
Alanopoulos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Alanopoulos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Otami lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Alanopoulos tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Otami paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alanopoulos misses with a wild combination.

And Otami tries to counter it with a takedown but Alanopoulos pushes his down on his head and steps out. Nice sprawl there from Alanopoulos as Otami shoots in. Alanopoulos shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Otami defends it nicely. Otami shoots in for a takedown but Alanopoulos shows good takedown defense. Alanopoulos lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Otami closes the distance and clinches up with Alanopoulos, looking for a takedown. Otami pushes Alanopoulos against the cage but Alanopoulos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Otami gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Alanopoulos counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Alanopoulos. Alanopoulos has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Otami uses from the top position. Alanopoulos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Shin Otami has got the better of the ground game so far. Alanopoulos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Otami stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alanopoulos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Otami slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Otami forces his way into half guard. Otami passes into side control, despite Alanopoulos's attempt to control the position.
Otami stands up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Otami cracks a nice hook into Alanopoulos's ribs. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shin Otami showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! Thud! ouch! good body kick from Otami - that will leave a mark!
Alanopoulos lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. The fighters circling - Alanopoulos throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Alanopoulos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Alanopoulos darts in looking for a takedown but Otami gets double underhooks and turns Alanopoulos into the cage. Alanopoulos drags the fight down to the ground.

Otami seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Otami throwing shots but Alanopoulos is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Otami missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Otami uses his free foot to push down on Alanopoulos's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Alanopoulos. Otami controlling from mount. Alanopoulos is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Otami looking to ground and pound but Alanopoulos is blocking nicely. Otami controlling from the full mount. Alanopoulos wants to control but Otami is having none of it. Otami thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Otami lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Otami takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Otami is working for a guillotine from mount but Alanopoulos frees his head quite easily.
Alanopoulos is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Otami controlling from mount. Alanopoulos is trying to escape the mount.
Otami has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Otami tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Poor strikes thrown by Otami there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
And that's the end of the fight! Shin Otami comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Otami winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
