And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phoenix Alexander!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Coffey on the side of the head.
Coffey tries to clinch up.
Alexander blocks a head kick by Coffey.
A nice inside leg kick there by Alexander. That's going to slow Coffey down.
Phoenix Alexander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice jab there from Alexander.
Coffey misses with a takedown attempt
letting Alexander counter with a right hand.
Alexander fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Coffey, pushing him back against the cage.
Alexander's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Good standup being displayed there by Alexander as he connects with a hook.
Alexander rushes Coffey and presses him up against the cage.
Alexander pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Coffey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Coffey walks into a jab.
Sloppy strikes from Alexander. Those never looked like landing.
Coffey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Alexander swivels and escapes.
Alexander throws a right hand that Coffey ducks under and follows up with a left that Coffey also avoids with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Alexander lands a big head kick that sends Coffey tumbling to the mat! Alexander takes a step backwards and waves Coffey back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Coffey is rocked!
It looks like Magnus Coffey has been cut.
Alexander lands a big head kick that sends Coffey to the canvas! Alexander follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
