The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
TheNoseBleeds shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. TheNoseBleeds showed some decent athleticism there.
Volkov wants to improve his position but TheNoseBleeds is controlling well.
Still in half guard, TheNoseBleeds seems content to control.
TheNoseBleeds landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
TheNoseBleeds not doing much here.
TheNoseBleeds seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Volkov can do anything to dispel that myth.

TheNoseBleeds is trying to control. Volkov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Volkov on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

TheNoseBleeds drops an elbow to the side of Volkov's head.

Volkov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with TheNoseBleeds. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Volkov is holding on to half guard well.
Volkov wants to get back to full guard but TheNoseBleeds has passed into side control.
TheNoseBleeds is working to tighten his grip on Volkov's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Volkov has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but TheNoseBleeds is really squeezing tight and eventually Volkov passes out! TheNoseBleeds breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
