This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 5 losses; Blake Phoenix! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Phoenix stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Phoenix wants it to stay on the feet. Phoenix has closed the distance and engaged Hunter in a clinch.
Hunter is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Phoenix gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Phoenix has Hunter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hunter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Hunter is working for takedown but Phoenix is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Saul Hunter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hunter has clasped his hands together around Phoenix's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
