Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jailton Almeida (ranked 5224 p4p, 3853 weight class) and DJ Taurima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taurima is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ready for war by ONEFOUR. Almeida is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Jailton Almeida has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jailton Almeida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DJ Taurima!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almeida fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Almeida is breathing heavily.
Almeida avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Taurima gets a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Taurima.
Taurima drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Taurima has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Almeida after a bit of a struggle.

Taurima is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Almeida can't fight it off and eventually Taurima manages to take the fight to the floor. Almeida looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Taurima takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Taurima is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Almeida to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Almeida shrugs it off.
Taurima is working for a guillotine from mount but Almeida frees his head quite easily.

Taurima takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Taurima is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Taurima lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Taurima connects with a nice short shot to Almeida's temple.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Taurima in particular looking to stall.
Taurima tries to pass the half guard into mount. Almeida knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Taurima thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Almeida's head.

Let's hope that Taurima has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Almeida tries to buck Taurima off but he can't manage it.
Taurima stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Taurima dives in for a single leg takedown but Almeida sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Almeida tries to keep at a distance but Taurima has taken the fight into the clinch.

Taurima shoots in but Almeida avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Taurima has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Taurima has hold of one of Almeida's legs. Almeida is fighting the takedown attempt but Taurima gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Taurima is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Almeida will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Taurima shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Almeida as he jumps to the side.
Almeida attempts a counter takedown but Taurima avoids it well and moves away.
Taurima moves into range and clinches up with Almeida.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Almeida accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Taurima tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Taurima has his foot on Almeida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Almeida works his way back into a safe position though.

DJ Taurima showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Almeida throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Taurima's waist but Taurima gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Almeida off to one side.

Taurima has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Almeida is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Taurima jumps guard and drags Almeida to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Taurima is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Taurima tries to score a power double leg takedown but Almeida sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Taurima somewhat.

Almeida is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Almeida throws an elbow that misses. Taurima uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Almeida's guard. Nice move by Taurima!

Almeida wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Taurima manages to pass to side control.

I've got Taurima winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
