With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drew Burr! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burr gets caught flat footed, as Curtis shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Burr keeping moving, preventing Curtis from controlling successfully. Burr looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Curtis is pushing down on Burr's leg trying to pass to half guard. Burr is fighting to maintain full guard but Curtis has managed to sneak the leg through. Curtis content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Burr can do anything to dispel that myth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Curtis looking to secure an arm triangle but Burr defends it well.
