PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grant Harklie (ranked 3180 p4p, 2812 weight class) and Two Kickman (ranked 369 p4p, 327 weight class). Harklie comes to the cage accompanied by Holycrud. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Harklie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Two Kickman!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Harklie misses the target.
Harklie slips a jab and a cross from Kickman.
It looked like Harklie wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kickman tries a head kick but it misses.
Kickman misses the shot to the body.
Kickman checks the leg kick.
Harklie misses with a hook. Kickman ducked under it nicely.
Kickman with a nice calf kick.
Kickman misses with a double jab
and Harklie counters with a left to the body.
Harklie moves out of range of the body kick.
Harklie throws a big shot that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kickman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Harklie.
Kickman throws a right hand that Harklie ducks under and follows up with a left that Harklie also avoids with ease.

Harklie gets a takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Harklie is keen to just control but Kickman is a slippery customer.

Harklie is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Kickman reverses the position - he's now on top in Harklie's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Harklie is on top in guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Harklie's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kickman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Harklie is one step ahead there.

Harklie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harklie content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Kickman keeping moving, preventing Harklie from controlling successfully.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Harklie's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Harklie is looking to work some ground and pound but Kickman has wrist control.

Harklie wants to control from the top but Kickman keeps moving.
Harklie with a flurry of punches that miss.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Harklie passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kickman struggling a bit here.
Kickman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Harklie drops an elbow to the side of Kickman's head.
Harklie moves into full mount! Kickman won't be happy about that!

Harklie drops back looking for a leg! Kickman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kickman manages to kick Harklie off! Harklie jumps back into Kickman's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Harklie wants to control from the top but Kickman keeps moving.
Grant Harklie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Harklie misses with a body shot.
Kickman uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Harklie.

Harklie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Harklie is nestled in close to Kickman, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kickman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Harklie is working away from the top position though.
Harklie lands strikes from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harklie has gone for a leg lock! Kickman slips out almost immediately though and dives into Harklie's guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Harklie misses with a takedown attempt - Kickman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kickman thuds his right hand into Harklie's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kickman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Nice body punch from Kickman.
Kickman scores with a sloppy right hand. Harklie should have avoided that one.
Harklie avoids a punch combination nicely.
Harklie throws a body shot but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kickman stalks Harklie and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Harklie's face. Harklie staggers backwards, shaken.
Kickman throws a leg kick but Harklie moved away.
Harklie is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kickman.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Harklie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Harklie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kickman is looking for a sweep.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Harklie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kickman, who protects the arm well.
Kickman can't do much from the bottom here.
Kickman is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Harklie off and has taken his back!

Kickman is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Harklie has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Kickman looking to break Harklie's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Harklie remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kickman will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
