Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rishi Brennan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Shamus McSorley!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jorge Garcia and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brennan throws the left hand but McSorley avoids the punch easily.
We've been told by Brennan's head coaches at Zanshin MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Brennan misses with a hook to the body
and McSorley counters with a one-two to the body.

McSorley lands a left and a right that send Brennan crashing to the mat, dazed. McSorley thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Brennan is rocked!
McSorley's coach down at Fat Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McSorley's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
McSorley moves out of range as Brennan strikes.
Oh Brennan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brennan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McSorley can pounce on him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brennan takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Brennan seems to have got his legs back now.
Brennan looks to throw the jab but McSorley is out of range.
Brennan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

McSorley moves into the clinch.

Come on McSorley - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

McSorley is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

McSorley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brennan looks to land a right hand but McSorley moved out of range.
McSorley connects with a solid leg kick.
Brennan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McSorley.

McSorley pushes Brennan up against the cage in a clinch.

McSorley has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Brennan is trying to keep an underhook but McSorley manages to get the takedown into half guard.
McSorley content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
McSorley wants to free his trapped foot but Brennan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
McSorley controlling the action here.
McSorley throwing shots but Brennan is blocking nicely.
McSorley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brennan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McSorley is taking a breather. Brennan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Brennan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McSorley moves away.
McSorley is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

McSorley clinches.
McSorley stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
McSorley displaying some good clinch control by pressing Brennan up against the cage.

The crowd are getting on McSorley's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Brennan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Brennan is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McSorley.
McSorley throws a quick inside leg kick.

and McSorley counters with a leg kick.

McSorley pushes Brennan up against the cage in a clinch.

McSorley has picked Brennan up - he's going for a ride! McSorley dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
McSorley's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brennan is looking to improve his position.
McSorley controlling the pace.
McSorley tries to stand and escape but Brennan is controlling the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McSorley tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brennan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
McSorley will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Brennan up against the cage.

McSorley lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Brennan.

A bit of stalling here from McSorley.
McSorley stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

McSorley manages to break the clinch.
McSorley throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
McSorley looks to land a combination. Brennan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Brennan takes a body punch but keeps moving.

McSorley moves into the clinch.

McSorley ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McSorley no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
McSorley wants to get back to his feet but Brennan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
McSorley has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McSorley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

McSorley wants to stand but Brennan is controlling the position.
McSorley lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brennan being controlled here, momentarily.
McSorley wants to get up but he can't break Brennan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Shamus McSorley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Brennan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from McSorley.
McSorley feints and then cracks Brennan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Brennan down.
Brennan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

McSorley lands a left and a right that send Brennan crashing to the mat, dazed. McSorley thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
McSorley lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Brennan gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Brennan tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but McSorley is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Brennan buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Brennan!! Brennan is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. McSorley throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shamus McSorley!
