Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Jefferson (ranked 4812 p4p, 25432 weight class) and Brian Roberts (ranked 441 p4p, 502 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Jefferson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Roberts! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jefferson misses with a leg kick and Roberts counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Roberts. Jefferson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Roberts gets control of Jefferson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Roberts will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Roberts throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Roberts keeping moving, preventing Jefferson from controlling successfully. Jefferson looking to pass the guard. Roberts pulls Jefferson in close to prevent any damage. Roberts wants to sweep but no luck. Roberts has control of Jefferson's left arm, preventing Jefferson from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Jefferson stops Roberts from standing up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Roberts with a lazy takedown attempt and Jefferson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jefferson dives in for a single leg takedown but Roberts sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Jefferson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jefferson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Roberts closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Roberts lands in his opponent's guard. Jefferson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Roberts passes into half guard.

Jefferson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jefferson tries to get out of the position. Jefferson has hold of Roberts's hands but Roberts slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Roberts tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Jefferson. Roberts sitting and controlling from the half guard. Roberts works his way into full mount! The referee warns Jefferson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Roberts tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Roberts looking to secure an arm triangle but Jefferson defends it well. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Roberts dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Jefferson tries to land a front kick but Roberts steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Roberts is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Roberts has taken the fight to the clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Jefferson throws an elbow but misses. Jefferson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Roberts is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Jefferson lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Jefferson is trying to pull guard but Roberts turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Roberts looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Roberts has Jefferson pressed against the cage, preventing Jefferson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roberts jumps into guard, dragging Jefferson to the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts managing to control the position. Jefferson prevents Roberts from getting back to his feet. Roberts manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jefferson manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jefferson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Jefferson working a defensive guard here.
Roberts chips away with some ground and pound. Roberts drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Roberts jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roberts would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Roberts not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Roberts slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Roberts scores with a couple of short elbows. Roberts remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Roberts lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roberts content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Jefferson can't do much from the bottom here. Roberts has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jefferson is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Jefferson is looking for a sweep. Jefferson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roberts on the ground. Roberts controlling the position from side mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jefferson can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jefferson throws a head kick that misses. Jefferson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Roberts unleashes a big counter combination but Jefferson bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Jefferson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Roberts throws a head kick but Jefferson moves out of range.
Roberts changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jefferson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Roberts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Roberts shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Roberts showed some decent athleticism there. Roberts is nestled in close to Jefferson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jefferson wants to get back to his feet.

Roberts should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. You can see the frustration on Jefferson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Roberts working the head with strikes. Jefferson can't do much from the bottom here. You can see the frustration on Jefferson's face as Roberts controls the position. Roberts scores with punches from side control. Jefferson wants to control but Roberts postures up. Roberts is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jefferson has escaped the position, nice work there. Roberts has knee on belly and moves into mount. Brian Roberts has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roberts gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Roberts closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jefferson tries to improve position but can't. Roberts taking a breather here. Roberts is continuing to stall. Roberts tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roberts is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jefferson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Jefferson gets back to half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Roberts is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Alexander Jefferson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brian Roberts is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
And that's the end of the fight! Brian Roberts comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Roberts winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
