PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toot Toto (ranked 25321 p4p, 4911 weight class) and Corbin Good (ranked 485 p4p, 453 weight class). Good has chosen Good Times, Bad Times - Led Zeppelin as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Toot Toto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corbin Good!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good fails to land with a series of punches.
Good has a takedown stuffed.

Good rushes Toto and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Good's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Toto feints and as Good raises his hands in defense, Toto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Toto trying to control but Good is working from the bottom.
Good is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, if Good is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Toto tries to roll over but Good keeps him under control.
Toto has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Good is working away from the top position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Toto pushes Good off looking to stand but Good dives back in and keeps control.
Good prevents Toto from improving his position.
Good is controlling the pace.
Toto wants to get back to full guard but Good has passed into side control.
Good trying to control the action but Toto is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Toto tries to buck Good off but Good is having none of it.
Good controlling the position from side mount.
Good is putting a hurting on Toto here, landing some big shots from side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Good tries to advance to mount but can't.
Toto tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Toto is working hard here to advance position.
Good is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Toto's shoulder. That is not cool.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Good jabs at Toto's body.
Toto tries to clinch but Good moves out of range.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Good clinches up with Toto and pushes him back against the cage.

Good gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Toto is wriggling around but Good manages to pass to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Corbin Good dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Toot Toto's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Toto shoots in and gets a takedown into Good's guard.
Good is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Good bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Toto's guard.


Toto is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Toto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Good defends well.
Toto is pulling down on Good's head. It's preventing any offense from Good, at least for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Toto preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Good not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Good's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Toto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Good can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Good controlling from the top position.
Toto wants to hit a sweep here but Good passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Toto there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Good lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Good cracks Toto with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Good controlling from the full mount.
Good is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Good content just to control the position here.
Toto tries to reverse the position but Good maintains control.
Good takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Good really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Toto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Toto tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Good sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Toto is trying to escape the mount.

Corbin Good has got the better of the ground game so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Corbin Good showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Toot Toto's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Left hook, right uppercut from Good.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Good moves into the clinch.
Good prevents a takedown attempt there.
Toto stops a takedown attempt from Good.
Good has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Toto smiles and moves away.
Good avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Toto throws a head kick that misses.

Good rushes Toto and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Good decides to pull guard.
Good has momentary wrist control but Toto slips an elbow through the middle.
Good controlling the position.
Toto not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Good is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Toto's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Toto landing some decent shots from guard.

Good has an active guard here but Toto has managed to pass into half guard.
Good is trying to get back to full guard.
Toto trying to control from Good's half guard. Good has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Toto lands a couple of elbows.

Good looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Toto slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Toto has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Good wants to control but Toto passes easily into half guard.
Toto is keen to just control but Good is a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Toto misses with a head shot. Good uses the momentum to regain guard.
Good is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Toto is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Toot Toto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Corbin Good is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Good pulls Toto in close to his closed guard and prevents Toto from doing any damage or advancing position.

Corbin Good comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Good has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Corbin Good opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
