Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brayden Tate (ranked 4904 p4p, 2705 weight class) and Diego Mendoza (ranked 446 p4p, 308 weight class). Tate's entrance music is Sicko mode. A fine choice. Brayden Tate has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brayden Tate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Mendoza! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendoza moves into the clinch. Tate looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Mendoza tries to pull guard but Tate won't allow it.

Tate tries to pull guard but Mendoza forces him back to his feet, against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brayden Tate. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mendoza escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mendoza moves into range and clinches up with Tate. Mendoza's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendoza manages to break the clinch.
Mendoza fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tate, pushing him back against the cage. Mendoza drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tate gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendoza is trying to trip Tate. He has hold of a leg but Tate is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mendoza persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Tate pushes Mendoza off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Tate has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mendoza. Mendoza closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Tate has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mendoza avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Mendoza lands with a short head shot on the inside. Mendoza decides to pull guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mendoza wants to stand up but Tate is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendoza utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tate has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mendoza wants to stand but Tate is controlling the position. Mendoza manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Tate dives in for a single leg takedown but Mendoza sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Mendoza will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Tate up against the cage. Mendoza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Tate takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Mendoza darts in and clinches Tate up against the cage. Tate has picked Mendoza up - he's going for a ride! Tate dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Mendoza is trying to stand up here but Tate is controlling him well. Mendoza kicks Tate off and gets back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mendoza lands a head kick. Tate smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendoza lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Mendoza looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendoza decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Mendoza shoots in but Tate avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mendoza moves into the clinch. Mendoza gets control of Tate's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mendoza will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Mendoza wants to get back to his feet but Tate is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Tate not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mendoza is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tate to keep the fight standing. Mendoza stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Mendoza tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Tate is looking to counter the offense by Mendoza and move into the clinch. Mendoza forces Tate back against the cage and clinches. Tate looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mendoza wants to stand but Tate has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Diego Mendoza has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendoza is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Mendoza has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mendoza gets to his feet - Tate follows without any prompting. Mendoza drives through and clinches with Tate against the cage.

Mendoza is looking to stand up but Tate isn't so interested in that idea. Tate postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mendoza really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tate. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mendoza wants to get back to his feet but Tate is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Brayden Tate has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Diego Mendoza is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Tate connects with a couple of short punches.
And that's the end of the fight! Diego Mendoza comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mendoza has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
