This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 58 losses; Desi Kraag! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 31 wins and 42 losses; Domingo The Flamingo! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Kraag tries to keep at a distance but The Flamingo has taken the fight into the clinch. Kraag has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Kraag is fighting off a takedown attempt but The Flamingo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kraag to the mat. Kraag regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Kraag (0) vs (2) The Flamingo The Flamingo's corner is telling him to maintain position. The Flamingo passes into half guard. The Flamingo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The Flamingo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kraag doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time The Flamingo. Kraag could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The Flamingo keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The Flamingo is working hard to pass the guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Kraag wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Score +3 for taking back: Kraag (0) vs (8) The Flamingo Kraag trying to control the position but The Flamingo manages to sink in the hooks. The Flamingo is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Kraag with him. Kraag is trying to defend but The Flamingo has an arm under the chin now! Kraag grimaces and is forced to tap out!
