Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kai Asakura (ranked 2138 p4p, 3375 weight class) and Kimchi Master (ranked 134 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

With a record of 7 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kimchi Master!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asakura throws a right hand that Master ducks under and follows up with a left that Master also avoids with ease.
Master ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Master moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Asakura falls off balance throwing a combination
and Master counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Asakura tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Asakura rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Master moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Master tries to clinch but Asakura is having none of it.
Master's jab looks to have found its range, popping Asakura under the eye.

No joy there for Asakura, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Master uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Asakura.
Master is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Master lands with a straight right. Asakura didn't see that one coming.
Asakura looks to land a right hand but Master moved out of range.
Master needs to keep his hands up - Asakura had a free shot at his head there.

We've been told by Asakura's head coaches at BANZAI COMBAT ACADEMY TOKYO that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Master ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Asakura moves away.
Asakura throws a series of punches but Master moves out of range.
Master fails in his attempt to clinch.
Master tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Asakura paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Master throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Master connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Asakura scores with a one two! Master had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Master is rocked!
Asakura moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Master is still on wobbly legs! Can Asakura finish him?
Master doesn't manage to clinch there - Asakura circles away.
Asakura was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Asakura jabs Master right on the nose. Master blinks but takes it well.
Master tries to clinch up but Asakura circles away and keeps his distance.
Master lands a nice hook to Asakura's body. Asakura takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Asakura throws a head kick that misses.
Master throws out a counter right but Asakura avoids it with no problem.
Asakura is breathing heavily.
Asakura misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Asakura throws an overhand right that drops Master like a sack of potatoes! Asakura dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kai Asakura!
A relieved looking Kai Asakura thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
