Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zhun Li (ranked 3147 p4p, 2992 weight class) and Fred Jose (ranked 343 p4p, 330 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zhun Li! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fred Jose! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Li gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jose counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Li fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jose to the ground. Li is now in Jose's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Li throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jose preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jose wants to sweep here but Li controlling him for the moment. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jose can do anything to dispel that myth. Li postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Jose has momentary wrist control but Li slips an elbow through the middle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Li is in close to Jose's body, working some short punches and elbows. Li connects with a couple of short punches. Li trying to control the position from guard on top but Jose is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Li landing with the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jose not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Li is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Li lands a couple of decent looking shots. Li lands a couple of digs. Jose utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Li makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Li is working Jose over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Li advances position into side control! Li working away. Li working the head with strikes. Jose parries the strikes from Li easily there. Li is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jose to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jose takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Li is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jose will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Li throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Li controlling the position. Jose avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Li. Li working the ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Li controls the position. Li landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Li lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Li lands a strong strike to the head of Jose. That's dazed him! Li looking to finish here. Jose is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Li lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zhun Li!
