The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merill on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lutz. Lutz obviously looking to wear him down.
Merill misses with a wild body shot.
A combination from Lutz does no damage.
Lutz fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Lutz misses with a series of wild punches.
Lutz slips under a jab.
Lutz misses the shot to the body.
Merill throws a right and a left that both miss.
Merill dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Merill lands a jab to the head.
It looks like Zayne Lutz has been cut.
Lutz closes the distance and lands a one-two.

and Merill connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lutz looks to land a combination but Merill avoids it well.

Merill's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Merill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Merill throws a right and a left that both miss.
Merill is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lutz.
A nice side step and Lutz releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Merill misses with a left hand
and Lutz counters with a nice uppercut.
Lutz moves into the clinch.
Merill breaks the clinch.
Lutz looks to score with a jab to the body but Merill is just out of range.
Lutz misses with a series of wild punches.
Merill avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Merill showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lutz.
Lutz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Merill swings away with a body shot that misses
and Lutz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Merill throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Lutz throws a good cross that connects.
Lutz smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Lutz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Merill, as that shot connected.
Lutz takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
That has opened up Zayne Lutz's cut even more.
Lutz clinches up against the cage.
Lutz breaks from the clinch.
Lutz is looking to clinch.
Merill lands a left and a right that sends Lutz crashing to the canvas! Merill dives into mount looking to finish!
Lutz is still in real trouble! Can Merill finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Merill postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Lutz in real trouble here! The ref calls for Lutz to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Herbert Merill!
Zayne Lutz spoke after the fight, saying 'Zayne Lutz cheers and claps because he bet on the opponent before the fight.'.
