Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sledge Wrou (ranked 162 p4p, 124 weight class) and Eddie Ryan (ranked 21 p4p, 15 weight class). Sledge Wrou had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Sledge Wrou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ryan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Wrou throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ryan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Ryan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wrou looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wrou looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wrou!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ryan tries to reverse the position but Wrou maintains control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sledge Wrou will probably get the nod.

Sledge Wrou overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Wrou has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wrou is just content to waste time from the top position. Ryan takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Wrou wants to stand but Ryan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sledge Wrou.
Well Wrou has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Sledge Wrou was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
