Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldez Reno (ranked 4441 p4p, 24719 weight class) and Rafael Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronaldez Reno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reno moves into range and connects with a jab.
Gracie looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Reno wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Reno lands with a cross.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie.
Ronaldez Reno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reno scores with a jab.
Reno is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Reno connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Reno scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gracie in his tracks.

Reno dives in and scores a takedown into Gracie's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Reno not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Reno wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position.

Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gracie slips a jab and a cross from Reno.
Reno lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Gracie gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Reno.

Gracie is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Reno.
Gracie takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Reno connects with a crisp jab.
Reno bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gracie's head backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gracie closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Reno scores with a sloppy right hand. Gracie should have avoided that one.

Reno closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Reno wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy.
Gracie has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Reno seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Reno is keen to just control but Gracie is a slippery customer.

Gracie tries to get to full guard but Reno has control of the leg.
Reno wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it.

Reno is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gracie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Reno.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Reno scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Reno controls the position.
You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gracie is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reno is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Reno throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Reno's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Reno connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Reno connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Reno cracks Gracie with an open hand slap.
Gracie looks for a takedown but Reno sprawls well.
Reno is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Reno shoots in and gets a takedown into Gracie's guard.
Reno has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gracie is proving hard to escape from.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Reno from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reno tries to stand but Gracie is controlling from the bottom.

Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Reno is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gracie can do to turn this around?
Gracie is breathing heavily.

Reno gets to his feet - Gracie follows without any prompting.
Reno tries to land a leg kick but Gracie saw it coming and moves away.
Reno's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Reno duly obliges.

Gracie tries to sprawl but Reno drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Reno is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gracie is trying to control but can't.
Reno seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Gracie tries to roll over but Reno keeps him under control.
Reno knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Reno is looking for a kimura but Gracie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Reno to get the leverage.

Reno decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Reno is trying to control. Gracie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Reno looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ronaldez Reno is winning the standup battle so far.
Reno lands a nice shot that snaps Gracie's head back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Gracie avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reno bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gracie's head backwards.
Gracie walks into a stiff left hand from Reno.
Reno blocks a head kick by Gracie.
Reno circles away from the clinch attempt

and Reno counters with a single leg into guard. Gracie didn't expect that.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reno trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Reno sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Reno has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Reno stays in close to Gracie's body and controls the position.

Reno gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Reno keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
A lazy left from Reno finds it's target.
A nice inside leg kick there by Reno. That's going to slow Gracie down.
Gracie takes one on the button.

Reno jabs Gracie right on the nose. Gracie blinks but takes it well.
Gracie takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Gracie takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Reno closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie did well to prevent Reno getting side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reno not doing much here.

Reno is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reno pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now.

Gracie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Reno should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gracie has tightened it up now! Reno should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
