The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Von Hayek closes this distance looking for a takedown but Esteves circles away. Esteves stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Esteves wants it to stay on the feet. Esteves half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Von Hayek shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Esteves sprawls well. Esteves wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Von Hayek gets slowly back to his feet. Vartan Esteves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Friedrich August Von Hayek. Esteves tries to sprawl but Von Hayek drives through with a takedown into half guard. Von Hayek prevents Esteves from improving his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Esteves is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Von Hayek is pressing down on Esteves's thigh, looking to free his foot. Esteves is holding on for now. Esteves is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Esteves slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Esteves wants to control the position but Von Hayek says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Von Hayek looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Esteves is trying to get back to full guard. Esteves is looking to control Von Hayek's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Esteves avoid being mounted?

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Von Hayek prevents Esteves from improving his position. Von Hayek wants to pass to mount but Esteves is defending the position. Von Hayek is looking for a kimura here.

Von Hayek has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Esteves to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Von Hayek is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Esteves pulls down on the head and he's put Von Hayek to sleep! This one is all over!
