Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brunta Nguana (ranked 1121 p4p, 1250 weight class) and Barry Parrish (ranked 113 p4p, 122 weight class). Barry Parrish has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Brunta Nguana's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brunta Nguana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barry Parrish! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nguana throws a hook but Parrish blocks it. Parrish throws a hook to the side of Nguana's head but Nguana sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Nice straight punches there by Nguana. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Nguana. Parrish misses with a shot to the body so Nguana counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Parrish controls Nguana momentarily but Nguana frees himself. Nguana definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Nguana drops back looking for a leg! Parrish is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Parrish manages to kick Nguana off! Nguana jumps back into Parrish's guard. Nguana content to stall in guard here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nguana tries to free his leg and advance position but Parrish is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nguana closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parrish circles away. A nice side step and Parrish releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Brunta Nguana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Parrish throws out a loose jab but Nguana uses good head movement to avoid it. Nguana loads up on a big right hand but Parrish slips the punch. Nguana shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Parrish as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brunta Nguana. That's going to take a lot out of him. Parrish missing with a left hand there. Nguana was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Nguana slips under a jab. Parrish throws the left hand but Nguana avoids the punch easily. It looks like Brunta Nguana has been cut. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Parrish throws out a loose jab but Nguana uses good head movement to avoid it. Parrish digs a good body shot into Nguana's ribs. Good exchange - Parrish coming out on top. Parrish has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nguana shoots in and gets a takedown into Parrish's guard. Parrish has his feet on Nguana's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Nguana feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nguana missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Nguana's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Parrish connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nguana scrambles back to his feet. Nguana fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Nguana lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Nguana throws a shot from downtown. Parrish moves away and avoids it. Nguana shoots and misses and Parrish counters with a left to the body. Parrish scores with a hook to the body. Nguana takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Nguana doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Parrish to counter with a crisp jab.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Parrish cracks Nguana with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Nguana tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Parrish pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Nguana is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barry Parrish! Barry Parrish tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
