Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between mario mesn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tate Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). mario mesn could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tate Johnson's chin.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
mesn throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely.
Johnson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
mesn fails to land the takedown.
mesn cracks Johnson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
mesn shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense.
mesn tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
mesn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but mesn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with mesn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

mesn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

mesn throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

mesn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Johnson sprawls well initially but mesn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

mesn wants to get back to his feet.
mesn throwing shots but Johnson is blocking nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
mesn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but mesn persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Johnson lands a lovely overhand right.

mesn shoots in and bounces Johnson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

A close round but Tate Johnson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Johnson stands up out of mesn's guard for a moment - mesn manages to land a nice upkick.
Johnson throws a strike but mesn rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Johnson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
mesn wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Johnson is striking off his back. mesn thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

mesn is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

mesn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
mesn trying to control from half guard but Johnson is working away.
mesn blocks the strikes from Johnson.
mesn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Johnson missing with punches from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
mesn working Johnson over with strikes.
mesn prevents Johnson from improving his position.
Johnson is in trouble now - mesn has advanced to mount!
Johnson is desperately trying to improve his position but mesn has a good base and remains in mount.
mesn takes Johnson's back, avoiding a couple of desperation strikes from the bottom.

mesn is working for a rear naked choke. Johnson is not defending it well and mesn has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Johnson refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Johnson's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
