Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Portin Vartija (ranked 3116 p4p, 24266 weight class) and Yujirou The Ogre (ranked 353 p4p, 572 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Portin Vartija!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yujirou The Ogre!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Ogre throws a poor cross that misses
and Vartija counters with a nice uppercut.

and Vartija counters with a nice right hand that sends The Ogre toppling to the canvas! The Ogre scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Vartija finish him?!
The Ogre is rocked!
Vartija moves away from the strike by The Ogre.
Vartija throws a counter high kick but The Ogre was just alert enough to avoid it.
The Ogre misses with an uppercut.
The Ogre throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The Ogre misses with a hook. Vartija ducked under it nicely.
Yujirou The Ogre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vartija looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Vartija backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks The Ogre's temple! It sends The Ogre violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Vartija celebrates and the doctors try to help The Ogre!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Portin Vartija!
After winning the bout, Portin Vartija thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
