Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Sherman (ranked 24317 p4p, 2641 weight class) and Ryota Fukado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryota Fukado told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Xavier Sherman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryota Fukado! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fukado shoots in and bounces Sherman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Fukado slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Sherman wants to get back to his feet but Fukado is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Fukado pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sherman is keeping the position for now. Fukado controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fukado wants to stand but Sherman has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sherman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sherman looking for a sweep. Not yet Sherman, not yet. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Fukado is looking to work some ground and pound but Sherman has wrist control.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Sherman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fukado but Fukado pushes him off and we're back to square one. Sherman tries to clinch but fails miserably and Fukado counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Fukado moves into the clinch. Fukado wants the takedown. Sherman is fighting it off but Fukado persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sherman's guard against the cage. Sherman wants to get back to his feet but Fukado passes into half guard.
Fukado is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sherman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fukado.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fukado performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fukado seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Sherman is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
