Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Oki Zuki !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Chunks!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chunks shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zuki pinned against the cage. Zuki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chunks looks for a takedown but Zuki sprawls well.
Zuki throws a head kick but Chunks moves out of range.
Chunks with a poor takedown
and Zuki counters with a three punch combo that has Chunks backing up. Chunks nods at Zuki to acknowledge the strikes.
Oki Zuki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Chunks.
Chunks tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Zuki defends well and Chunks ends up having to push Zuki into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Chunks dodges the punch combination from Zuki .
Zuki connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Chunks momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chunks fails with a takedown attempt.
Bobby Chunks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chunks blocks a head kick by Zuki .
Chunks drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Zuki has his feet on Chunks's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Chunks shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zuki as he avoids it easily.
Zuki is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Zuki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Chunks shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Chunks looks winded!
Chunks shoots in and drives through. Zuki sprawls well.
Chunks misses with a takedown attempt
and Zuki counters with a crisp one two that drops Chunks! Zuki thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Chunks to his feet! Chunks is in big trouble!
Zuki goes for a small jab and connects. Now Zuki goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Chunks stumbles back but Zuki runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Chunks to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Chunks will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Oki Zuki !
Jumping up and down and very excited, Oki Zuki waved his t-shirt featuring Champion Apparel's logo in front of the cameras.
