Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Takimura (ranked 3837 p4p, 4238 weight class) and Shin Otami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shin Otami is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Takimura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Otami! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Otami tries to keep at a distance but Takimura has taken the fight into the clinch. Takimura misses with a punch to the body.
Takimura tries to pull guard but Otami forces him back to his feet, against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Takimura's face as he tries to break the clinch. Otami lands a knee to the body.
Takimura drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryu Takimura. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Otami manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Otami looking for a guillotine here but Takimura defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Takimura has gone for a leg lock! Otami slips out almost immediately though and dives into Takimura's guard. Takimura looking for a sweep. That's three minutes gone in the round. Otami wants to work for an arm triangle but Takimura is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Takimura really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Takimura wants to control but Otami is keeping busy and won't allow it. Takimura is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Otami fails to land with a series of punches.
Takimura appears to be looking for a big counter. Nice sprawl there from Otami as Takimura shoots in. It seemed like Otami was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Otami throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Takimura's waist but Takimura gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Otami off to one side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Otami drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Otami tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Takimura tries to clinch up but Otami circles away and keeps his distance. Takimura looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Otami tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Otami works over Takimura's head and body with a nice combination. Otami looks winded! Takimura cracks a nice hook into Otami's ribs. Takimura changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Otami tries to avoid it but Takimura manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Otami to the ground. Otami escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Otami has closed the distance and engaged Takimura in a clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Otami stuffs the takedown attempt from Takimura. Takimura gets slowly back to his feet. Otami wants to counter with a clinch but Takimura pushes him away. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shin Otami dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Takimura shoots in but no luck this time. Takimura shoots in and drives through. Otami sprawls well. Otami swats away the attempt to clinch by Takimura. Otami moves into the clinch. Otami pulls guard effortlessly. Takimura has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Takimura stands up over Otami, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takimura wants to stand and escape but instead Otami has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Otami trying to control but Takimura is working from the bottom. Otami stands up and waves to Takimura to follow him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Otami shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. An attempted straight right counter from Takimura misses the target. Takimura is looking to clinch but Otami is avoiding it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Takimura closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Otami quickly recovers to half guard. Otami flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Takimura is keen to just control but Otami is a slippery customer. Otami trying to control but Takimura postures up.
Takimura uses his free foot to push down on Otami's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Otami. Takimura looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takimura pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Otami has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Otami is looking to improve his position but Takimura isn't that keen on the idea. Takimura tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Takimura looking to control but Otami is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Takimura lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Takimura with good strikes from the mount here! Otami tries to buck Takimura off but he can't manage it. Otami wants to hold on but Takimura pushes him away. Otami taking shots to the head. Takimura trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Takimura wants to control but instead Otami manages to regain half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ryu Takimura will probably get the nod. That's time! Takimura's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round! Takimura shoots for a takedown but Otami saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Takimura changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Otami tries to avoid it but Takimura manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Otami to the ground. Otami escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Otami keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryu Takimura. That's going to take a lot out of him. Takimura shoots in for a takedown but Otami shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Takimura with a lazy takedown attempt and Otami holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Otami jumps guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Takimura lands a couple of decent looking shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Takimura sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Otami's guard. Takimura not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Takimura stalling away here and it's allowed Otami to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Takimura wants to get up but he can't break Otami's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Takimura advances to half guard. Ryu Takimura overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Takimura is trying to control the action in half guard but Otami is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takimura is working for a kimura but Otami is defending it quite comfortably.
Takimura is looking to take a break and control but Otami is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Takimura throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Otami lands with a kick to the temple. Takimura shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Otami fails with the takedown. Ryu Takimura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Takimura misses with a head kick.
Otami is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Takimura lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Otami at a distance.
Otami displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Takimura. Takimura goes for a double leg but Otami avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Otami continues to drive forward. Otami is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Takimura is defending well. Good body shot from Takimura.
Otami is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Takimura is trying to drag Otami to the mat but Otami just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Takimura stalling in the clinch.
Otami pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Takimura tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Otami manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Otami. No joy for Takimura on that attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Takimura keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Otami stuffs the takedown attempt from Takimura. Takimura gets slowly back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Shin Otami comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Otami has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
