Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Weilong Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kimo Sabe!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabe tries to clinch up.
Sabe tries to close the distance and clinch but Li swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sabe moves into the clinch.
Sabe can't find room to land a body shot as Li controls the action.
Li wants to get back to striking at distance but Sabe won't allow it.
Sabe lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Li has Sabe pushed against the cage.
I was talking to Li's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Sabe struggles to land a body shot inside as Li controls his hands.
Li breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sabe thows a left - swing and a miss!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Li moves out of range of the strikes.
Li shoots for a takedown but Sabe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sabe wants to counter with a clinch but Li pushes him away.
Sabe has closed the distance and engaged Li in a clinch.
Sabe lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Sabe can't find room to land a body shot as Li controls the action.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sabe lands a shot to the body.
Li is breathing heavily.
Sabe doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Still in the clinch, Sabe scores with a nice short uppercut.
Sabe struggles to land a body shot inside as Li controls his hands.
A head punch on the inside from Sabe fails to land.
Sabe lands with a left to the head.
Sabe looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Sabe misses with a punch to the body.
Li tries to break free but Sabe pushes him back against the cage.
Sabe tries a body shot but Li blocks it.
Sabe lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Sabe makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Li is rocked!
Sabe lands a body punch in the clinch.
Oh Li is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sabe pushes Li against the cage. Sabe is working some dirty boxing. Sabe pushes off with a quick right hook! Li goes down! Li tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Sabe moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kimo Sabe!
