Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Benny Darius (ranked 2443 p4p, 3057 weight class) and Cuba Gooding (ranked 224 p4p, 276 weight class). Darius comes to the cage accompanied by In the Shadows - The Rasmus. Gooding has chosen Everything is Right (ft. Devilish Trio) - Skeler as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Benny Darius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cuba Gooding!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darius swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Darius swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gooding counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Darius throws a lazy uppercut
and Gooding counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gooding avoids a punch combination nicely.
Benny Darius seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gooding shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gooding has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Darius lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gooding now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Darius darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Gooding bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
It seemed like Gooding was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Gooding is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Darius with a body shot.

Gooding is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Darius had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Darius lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Cuba Gooding has been cut.
Darius throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Darius misses with a head kick.

and Darius takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Darius goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Darius misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A nice side step and Gooding releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Darius fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Gooding is out of range.

and Gooding cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Darius is rocked!
Darius throws a sloppy body shot
and Gooding scores with a counter punch that sends Darius to the canvas! Gooding smells blood - he's punishing Darius with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Darius has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cuba Gooding!
An out of breath Cuba Gooding thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
