Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Banton (ranked 25338 p4p, 3541 weight class) and Rafael Ramirez (ranked 484 p4p, 399 weight class). Banton has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Thomas Banton has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thomas Banton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez looking to score a takedown here. Banton is defending well but Ramirez drives through and ends up in Banton's guard.
Banton is breathing heavily.
Ramirez engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Let's hope that Ramirez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Ramirez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ramirez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ramirez drives through and clinches with Banton against the cage.
Banton fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Banton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ramirez manages to break the clinch.
Ramirez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Banton.
Ramirez lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ramirez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Banton is trying to control Ramirez's posture but Ramirez avoids it.
Ramirez scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Banton to see if he's OK.
Ramirez decides to stand back up. Ramirez steps back and let's Banton get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ramirez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ramirez closes the distance and clinches.
Ramirez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ramirez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ramirez rushes Banton and presses him up against the cage.
Ramirez stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Ramirez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ramirez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ramirez manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Ramirez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Banton is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Ramirez moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rafael Ramirez!
