Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julio Christ (ranked 752 p4p, 3683 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 42 p4p, 319 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Julio Christ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Christ moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Wallace shoots for a double leg takedown but Christ sprawls well. He's pushed Wallace's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wallace looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Christ is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Ruttos gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Wallace wants to control but Christ is keeping him busy. Wallace throwing shots but Christ is blocking nicely. Wallace missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Christ tries to roll over but Wallace keeps him under control. Christ is not content to let Wallace control the position. Wallace is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Christ throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Christ is defending against the submission attempts here by Wallace.
Wallace throws a strike but Christ avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christ looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Wallace trying to control but Christ is working from the bottom. Wallace looking to sit in guard and control but Christ gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Christ stays in close to Wallace's body and controls the position. Christ got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wallace has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Christ has managed to get both his arms back between Wallace's legs - danger averted. Christ stopping the sweep attempt from Wallace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Wallace is looking for a triangle but Christ pushes his legs off easily.
Wallace has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Christ not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Christ trying to control but Wallace is working from the bottom. Wallace looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wallace tries for a takedown but Christ sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Christ drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wallace sprawls and moves away. Wallace shoots in but Christ avoids the takedown attempt easily. Julio Christ has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Wallace. Wallace has a takedown stuffed. Wallace shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Christ counters with a good low kick that Wallace was not able to check. Wallace looks winded! Wallace tries for a takedown but Christ circles away easily and Christ counters by moving into the clinch. Wallace drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Christ gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wallace fails to pull guard.
Wallace is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Christ pulls him back up using the underhooks. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Julio Christ dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Christ with a nice calf kick. Christ is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wallace can do to turn this around? Wallace tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Christ swivels and escapes. Wallace gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Christ counters with a crisp right hand that drops Wallace! Christ lets Wallace back up to his feet, looking for a finish! Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown but Christ manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wallace's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Julio Christ has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Wallace. Christ scores with a body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action! Christ catches Wallace with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Wallace forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
