Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Wardell (ranked 4869 p4p, 4908 weight class) and Wayne Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Wardell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wayne Walker! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wardell dives in and grabs Walker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Walker pushes down on Wardell's head and hops out. Wardell paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Walker swats away the attempt to clinch by Wardell. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Walker is defended easily by Wardell. Walker stuffs the takedown. A nice combination there by Wardell.
It looks like Wayne Walker has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wardell tries to clinch but Walker moves out of range. Walker tries to counter by closing the distance. Walker looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wardell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Walker paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wardell cracks Walker with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Wardell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walker tries to avoid it but Wardell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walker to the ground. Walker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Wardell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wardell pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Walker back to the cage. Wardell follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Wardell fails with the takedown. Wayne Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walker fails with a takedown attempt. As Walker looks to move away, Wardell throws a big counter combo but Walker just gets out of the way. The fight stays on the outside here - Wardell looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Wardell tries to clinch but fails miserably and Walker counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wardell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Walker. Walker swats away the attempt to clinch by Wardell. The fight moves into the clinch position. Wardell jumps guard but Walker stands there with Wardell around his waist. Wardell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Walker digs a right hand into Wardell's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Wardell's gas tank. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Walker successfully pulls guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wardell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Walker is proving hard to escape from. Walker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wardell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Walker looks winded! Walker lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Wardell can't keep his opponent in guard - Walker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Walker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wardell doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Walker.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wardell tries to kick Walker off but Walker keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Walker not landing any meaningful shots this time. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Wayne Walker will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Wayne Walker's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Wardell tried to score with a low kick but Walker checks it. Walker drives through and clinches with Wardell against the cage.
Walker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Walker misses with a takedown and Walker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Horrible takedown attempt by Walker or perhaps it was just good defense by Wardell, which made it look bad. Wardell misses with a takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck for Walker with that takedown attempt. James Wardell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wayne Walker.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker lands a head kick. Wardell smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Walker is breathing heavily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wardell. Walker clinches with his opponent.
Walker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wardell smiles and moves away.
Walker shoots for a takedown but Wardell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Walker takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Wardell jabs Walker right on the nose. Walker blinks but takes it well. Wardell fails to land with a series of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wardell throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Walker stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Wardell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Walker avoids it really well and circles away. Walker throws a sloppy head kick and Wardell moves out of range easily. A good leg kick by Walker. Walker takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Walker slips a jab and a cross from Wardell.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker closes the distance and clinches. Walker is working for takedown but Wardell is calmly controlling the position for now. Wardell wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Walker can't get the takedown.

Walker has Wardell pressed against the cage, preventing Wardell from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Walker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Walker gets in close and instigates a clinch. Wardell is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Walker working Wardell over with knees to the body. Wardell is looking to take this one to the mat. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Walker drags the fight down to the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Wardell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Walker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Wardell has Walker up against the cage in a clinch.

Walker will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Walker has a closed guard, preventing Wardell from standing up.

Wardell went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Wardell fails to land with a series of punches.
Walker wants to counter the offense by Wardell and move into the clinch position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Walker tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wardell defends well and Walker ends up having to push Wardell into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. James Wardell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wayne Walker is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Some bone on bone action there as Walker checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Wayne Walker. I've got Walker winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
